The Avaya IPO SoftConsole is a great solution for a receptionist that is very busy and needs to work more efficiently. The solution is used in conjunction with a hard phone such as a digital phone like Avaya 9508 or an IP phone like the Avaya 9650; however, it gives the receptionist the ability to see more information on each call.
The
receptionist will have a visual interface on his or her PC that will give them additional call control. The user will have ability to see a call on their screen and drag and drop to transfer a call rather than using buttons on their phone. The user can also send a text message to an employee when transferring a call to them. The text message will be show on the display of the telephone of the extension called. For example, caller wants to place an order or emergency call, etc.
Follow up:
Soft console is also a necessary addition for any receptionist that is handling calls for multiple sites. She will have up to 10 tabs with 100 icons per page. This will allow the receptionist to quickly tab over to another location able to tell whether an employee is available for a call, on the phone, or other settings such as on vacation or in a meeting, etc. This feature is called presence settings.
Another benefit is that the receptionist can see which employees have voicemail messages waiting for them, and listen to them if need be.
The receptionist softconsole replaces the need for a receptionist to have large DSS Modules on the side of their phone, and frees up more space on the user’s desk. It can help the receptionist to answer calls quicker and with more information to help the caller.
